Barbecue Chicken Wings
Chicken wings are a staple in the American culture… you’ll see them at tailgate and football parties and other manly events. This recipe is tangy and sweet. Add more cayenne if you like things spicy.
Barbecue Chicken Wings
Yield: 20
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 60 to 70 minutes
Ingredients:
2 pounds chicken wings, wing tips cut and discarded
2/3 cup ketchup
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice
2 Tablespoons lime juice
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 Tablespoon brown sugarDirections:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Cut each wing in half at joint. Place wings on broiler rack. Bake 50-60 minutes or until crisp (turning once halfway through).
3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix remaining ingredients. Brush sauce on cooked wings. Place under broiler and broil for 2-3 minutes. Turn wings over and brush liberally with sauce again. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
4. Serve wings on their own or with ranch dressing to dip in.
Tips:
*If you're packing these up to take to a tailgating party, bake and broil them at home and then package them in a foil tray closed tightly with foil to keep them hot.
