It's usually near the instant coffee/hot chocolate. It's kind of tough to find because it comes in a little jar. Be sure to ask the grocery manager if you can't find it.

Where do you find espresso powder? I've seen it for a few recipes and had to pass on them because I can't find it with the instant coffee or I just don't know what I'm looking for. I've looked at both my local grocery store (Kroger) and WalMart.

These look decadently delicious and since your recipe is adapted from the Barefoot Contessa herself, it's sure to be spectacular!

Can't wait for an excuse to make up a batch of these brownies.

Hi Kathleen, Funny that you ask because I am DEFinately not a coffee person. I do use espresso powder though in a number of chocolate desserts that I make. It really deepens the chocolate flavor. You don't taste coffee! You could certainly leave it out, but the flavor will not be quite as good!

They look heavenly. But what about if you are just not a coffee person. Should I just add some cocoa powder or skip it altogether?
