I made this with the apples sliced, it cooked overnight, but was still just sliced, yummy, warm apple slices. I tried a potato mashed – that didn’t work. Is it the kind of apple used that makes it turn to mush?

Gosh, I’m not sure why that did not happen. They should have turned to complete mush overnight!
Any apple should work, but the best apples for applesauce: Cortland, Empire, Fuji, McIntosh, Spartan, Winesap
