I Can Live For Two Months On a Good Compliment…
This Mark Twain quote was brought to my attention by my Brother-in-Law, who is writing a book on inspirational thoughts. In our conversation, he asked me what or who inspires me. I shared with him that, as a food blogger, each day as I read comments on my blog, I’m inspired by the kind folks that shower compliments upon me and my little blog. It truly is inspiring… uplifting… surprising… and encouraging. It certainly keeps me going, that’s for sure. 228,000 visits since January 1st, 2008?? That’s just unbelievable. It’s quite difficult to believe that there are that many people would like to read what I post here.
I’m inspired by cookbooks, magazines and even creative recipe titles. I’m inspired by things I see on Food Network. I’m inspired by food-related books. I’m inspired by friends and family who give me feedback on new recipes I’ve tried. My husband provides endless inspiration in that he constantly praises me above and beyond in all aspects of my life. And I’m even inspired by my gym class instructor who called me “tall blond goddess” the other day. (Tall… yes, Blond… yes- with help, but Goddess… please. Not really!) In all of these instances, inspiration is found.
