Cape Cod Apple- Cranberry Lattice Pie

Ingredients:

1/2 cup granulated white sugar
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 Tablespoon butter
1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
3 cups sliced and peeled MacIntosh apples
2 (9-inch) pie crusts

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

2. Combine first 7 ingredients in large saucepan. Cook 2 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add cranberries. Boil 2 minutes. Fold in apple slices and cool.

3. Pour into pastry-lined 9-inch pan. Make lattice strips of pastry dough and criss-cross over filling. Trim and pinch edges.

4. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
