Honey- Lemon Sauce

Delicious over French toast, waffles, or breakfast bread pudding.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 cup honey
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) salted butter
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
dash of salt

Directions:

1. Whisk together the water and cornstarch in a small bowl; set aside.

2. Stir together the remaining ingredients in a saucepan; stir in the water mixture. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until mixture thickens.

3. Serve hot or cold.

Tips:

*If you are preparing this recipe as GLUTEN-FREE, just be sure to use a brand of honey that is known to be GF.
