  APPETIZER FINGER FOODS:
Maple Beer Smoked Sausage

Maple- Beer Smoked Sausage

Sweet flavor, and an easy appetizer to make...

2 lbs

smoked sausage

1 bottle

good strong-flavored beer

¾ cup

maple syrup

¾ cup

packed brown sugar

1

Slice sausage into thick round slices and place in a crockpot. Add all other ingredients and stir to combine.

2

Cook on low for 4-6 hours. Serve with cocktail picks.

 Cooking Tips

*It's best if you are able to keep the sausages warm and sitting in some of the sauce on your serving table. Otherwise, they will tend to dry out.

*Save the sauce to use as a marinade! Place sauce in a plastic tub overnight, skim off the fat, and use as a marinade for chicken or pork.

Hey! This one's a keeper- would make it again.  "These were good- served them in the fall.  They would also be a good appetizer for a football game.  I recommend following  the tip mentioned as keeping them in a bit of the sauce."
