Eggnog Caffe

 

Great holiday drink...
 

½ cup 

 

brandy

 

3 Tbs 

 

dark rum

 

2 Tbs 

 

firmly packed golden brown sugar

 

1 Tbs 

 

instant espresso powder or instant coffee powder

 

4 cups 

 

purchased eggnog
 

 

 

 

TOPPING:

 

½ cup 

 

chilled whipping cream

 

¼ cup 

 

powdered sugar

 

½ tsp 

 

vanilla extract

 

 

 

freshly ground nutmeg

In a pitcher, stir first four ingredients until sugar and espresso are dissolved. Mix in eggnog. Cover and refrigerate. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead)

Beat cream, powdered sugar and vanilla in small bowl until firm peaks form. Pour eggnog into stemmed glasses or punch cups. Top with dollop of cream, sprinkle with nutmeg and serve.
