Winter- Spiced Red Wine Sangria

 

Wonderful for a winter- themed event...
 

1 cup 

 

apple juice

 

1/3 cup 

 

Triple Sec or any other orange flavored liqueur

 

¼ cup 

 

granulated sugar

 

4 whole 

 

cloves

 

3 medium 

 

blood oranges (or naval oranges), cut into ¼-inch slices

 

2 medium 

 

lemons, cut into ¼-inch slices

 

Two 3-inch 

 

cinnamon sticks

 

1 medium 

 

Bartlett pear, cut into ½-inch cubes

 

One 750ml. 

 

bottle fruity red wine

 

 

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher; stir until sugar dissolves. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Remove cloves and cinnamon sticks before serving.

 

Servings: 10

Yield: Serv. Size: 3/4 cup
