 Hot Tuna Roll

 

A tasty tuna treat...
 

8 oz 

 

flaky pastry dough

 

½ small 

 

onion, chopped

 

1 Tbs 

 

butter

 

4 oz 

 

mushrooms, chopped

 

12.25 oz 

 

can of white albacore tuna (in water), drained

 

1 large 

 

egg, beaten

 

2 tsp 

 

fresh lemon juice

 

1 tsp 

 

capers, rinsed, drained and chopped

 

 

 

salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Roll out pastry in a thin oblong shape and place on baking sheet.

Fry onion in butter until soft; add mushrooms and cook for a few more minutes. Remove from heat.

Add tuna, egg, lemon juice and capers; season with salt and pepper to taste.

Place mixture in the center of the pastry, dampen edges and fold over, first the top and bottom and then the sides. Press edges together well.

Score a couple of times across the top with a knife, brush top with milk, and bake for 15 minutes.

Reduce oven temperature to 400, and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
