 Parmesan Baguette Croutes

 

Terrific bread to have with a hearty chili...
 

¼ lb 

 

unsalted butter

 

¼ cup 

 

good olive oil

 

4 cloves 

 

garlic, minced

 

1 whole 

 

sourdough baguette, sliced into 30-35 pieces (rounds or diagonals)

 

¼ cup 

 

Parmesan, asiago or romano cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine butter, oil and garlic. Brush sourdough rounds with butter/oil mixture and sprinkle with cheese.

Place on cooking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Cool and serve.

 

Servings: 12

Cooking Tips: 
*
It's okay to use unsalted butter as the cheese will have enough salt for flavor.
*Good olive oil is the key to having good flavor in these rounds.
