 Fresh Apple Bread

 

Apple in every bite...
 

1 cup 

 

granulated sugar

 

1 stick 

 

butter, softened

 

2 large 

 

eggs, lightly beaten

 

2 cups 

 

flour

 

1 tsp 

 

baking soda

 

1 tsp 

 

baking powder

 

¼ tsp 

 

salt

 

1 tsp 

 

ground cinnamon

 

½ tsp 

 

ground nutmeg

 

¼ tsp 

 

ground cloves

 

1 Tbs 

 

vinegar

 

1 cup 

 

finely chopped apple

 

½ cup 

 

chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour 5x9x3" loaf pan.

Cream sugar, butter and eggs until light and fluffy.

Sift together dry ingredients.

In a large bowl combine vinegar with apples. Add creamed mixture until mixed well. Add flour mixture and combine until moistened. Fold in nuts.

Pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.

 

Yield: One loaf
