Sweet, syrupy
side dish for a great brunch...

10-12 firm |
|
fresh pears, peeled, cored and quartered |

vinegar |

granulated sugar |

ground cinnamon |

Place pears
in water with vinegar and salt. Let sit a few
minutes, then drain but don't rinse. |

Place pears
in a pot filled with fresh water and cook until
the fork goes in fairly easily. Drain. |

Preheat oven
to 400 degrees F. |

Arrange
pears in a buttered flat baking dish. Sprinkle
over pears a mixture of sugar, flour and
cinnamon. |

Combine
water, lemon juice and vanilla and pour over
pears. Dot with butter. |

Bake for 45
minutes, or until syrup thickens. |

7 |
Brown in the
broiler just before ready to serve. |
