and cut pears in small strips. Chop finely.

In medium
saucepan, mix pears, peppers, ginger, raisins,
sugar, vinegar, and salt and cover with water.
Tie spices in cheesecloth and drop into pan with
the pear mixture. Simmer until pears are tender
and mixture is thick (about 2 hours).
