Cooking Tips |
|
*You can make your
own dulce de leche (latin caramel sauce), or you can
purchase pre-made dulce de leche in a can or bottle.
Nestle makes it (among other manufacturers.) We found
ours in the Latin section of our market. |
|
**Once cooled, the
carmelitas can be kept in an airtight container at room
temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 1
month. |

****Restaurant
Quality!- would
make it again. "These were so incredibly amazing. I
split them up and served them at two different events, where they were
very well received. Many asked where they could get the recipe!"

***Liked it, but
didn't love it!- would
not make it again. "I
made these last night and cut into them this morning. They are OK at
best. I think that any dessert that makes me wait a day to taste it
should be fantastic and this just wasn't. They look impressive but the
flavor didn't meld together like I had hoped. Just too much going on.
I'm also not sure what the Dulce de Leche really did for the bar- its
sort of bland I think in this? Pretty though"
***Hey, This One's a
Keeper!- would
make it again. "A
hit with the family and co-workers!"
