slightly beaten |

Mix together flour,
sugar and salt in the top of a double boiler. Add milk
and cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until
mixture thickens. Cook 15 minutes longer, stirring
occasionally. |

Place egg yolks in a
bowl. Pour a small amount of the hot mixture over the
egg yolks, beating vigorously; return to the double
boiler, and cook an additional 2 minutes, stirring
constantly. Remove from heat and let cool. |

Stir in vanilla and
then refrigerate. When chilled, fold in whipped cream. |

Slice bananas and
sprinkle with lemon juice. |

To assemble pie,
layer cream filling and sliced bananas in the pie shell.
Garnish with whipped cream and grated orange rind. |
