apples, peeled, cored and sliced |

chilled 9" pie shell

TOPPING: |

ground cinnamon |

butter, slightly softened |
|

Preheat oven
to 400 degrees F. |

Sift
together flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Stir
in egg, vanilla and sour cream. Fold in apples;
spoon into pie shell. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce
oven to 350 degrees F, and bake an additional 30
minutes. Remove from oven, and turn oven back up
to 400 degrees F. |

Mix topping
ingredients together with a pastry blender until
the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over pie; bake
another 10 minutes. |

Let cool at
room temperature and then chill. |

Cooking Tips |
|
*If edges of pie
crust seem to be browning too much, cover them with
foil.
