 Peanut Brittle

 

Nice to package and give as a hostess gift...
 

2 cups 

 

granulated sugar

 

1 cup 

 

white corn syrup

 

1 cup 

 

water

 

2 cups 

 

raw peanuts

 

¼ tsp 

 

salt

 

1 tsp 

 

baking soda

Grease cookie sheet.

Combine sugar, syrup and water. Cook slow to the soft ball stage (245 degrees F. on a candy thermometer). Add 2 cups of raw peanuts and salt. Cook until thermometer registers 300 degrees F. Add baking soda. Stir to blend and cook until light brown.

Pour onto prepared pan and spread out. Cool and then break into pieces.
