 Barbequed Apple Crisp a la Mode

 

A unique way to bake this favorite...
 

6 medium 

 

baking apples

 

¾ cup 

 

brown sugar

 

¾ cup 

 

quick cooking oatmeal

 

½ cup 

 

flour

 

½ cup 

 

butter, softened

 

½ tsp 

 

ground cinnamon

 

½ tsp 

 

ground nutmeg

 

 

 

vanilla ice cream

Peel and core apples. Slice and arrange in a greased 9x9" foil pan.

Mix sugar, oatmeal, flour and butter together until crumbly. Spread over the apples. Place pan in the center of the cooking grill; cover and vent.

If using a gas grill, light the edges of the grill only. If using coals, push the hot coals to the outside of the grill. The crisp should be cooking indirectly so that it does not burn.

Cook 35-40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
