                   Entertaining-
      Additional things to consider...

*how to figure out how much food you will need:
For an appetizer party of a tea, figure out the number of mouthfuls or bites
necessary.  For this type of event, we suggest 8 spicy plus 4 sweet
mouthfuls per person.  Increase to 15 mouthfuls if it's a heavy appetizer
party and your guests are unlikely to go for a meal afterwards.  If you're
having a dinner party, plan on using recipes as a guide for servings,
keeping in mind that you will want to prepare more than you will need.

   *types of food to serve:
The food should be delicious and present well.  Consider favorites of your
guests.  If you're serving in someone else's home, stay away from messy
food.  If it's a very casual party, you can consider serving the food on paper
or plastic plates if the food is not heavy and if cutting is not involved.
Consider drink options/ costs.  Will you use an ice bucket or an ice chest?

*where you will get the recipes for your party:
Collect recipes from magazines, family, friends, other parties you have
attended, recipe books, food channel and the internet.

   *presentation and decor:
Collect interesting serving pieces of varied size and height.  Study pictures
in magazines to see how food is presented in an appealing manner (not flat).
Decide on what paper products to use (make sure the paper is sturdy,
appropriate size and coordinated with your table).  Try to imagine what the
food will look like on the plate.  Make sure your food has texture and color.
Catalogues and magazines have great ideas for display and include new
trends.  Choose a centerpiece for your display area.

   *themes:
Follow a theme for your party... Mexican, Italian, Happy Hour, Summer
Barbecue, Baby Shower, Soup & Salad, etc...

   *extras:
-Print out the recipes for your party.  Tape them on your cabinets for easy
         viewing while preparing.
-Type out a menu for the party- place in a frame and display for your guests.
