*choose placemats, tablecloths
*choose music
*decide on serving dishes you will use, and what you'll need to
purchase

imperfections

*shop for perishables
*find matches or clicker and choose a place where they will be

day of party:
*do any prep work (cutting, chopping, salad dressing, etc.)
*mid-day - begin getting dishes ready for cooking
*set up coffeepot with coffee in filter, water in tank and ready to
brew
*clear buffet area and set up with serving dishes and utensils
*be dressed and ready and least 20 minutes ahead of time
*light candles in entertaining area before guests arrive
*turn on lamps, outside lights to make home "warm"
timing for dinner:
*serve drinks when company arrives for about 30 minutes
*if your guests ask to help, allow them to put ice in glasses and
pour beverages
*put on coffee when you sit down for dinner, 1 kettle of water for
tea
*allow about 40 minutes to 1 hour for eating
*clear plates and put in sink (do not take time to wash dishes
while guests
are there)
*clear away buffet quickly and put out dessert
*serve dessert and coffee and try to keep guests out of kitchen and
into living area
*always offer more coffee...
