 Sherried Cranberry Sauce

 

Makes a nice holiday gift for teachers...
 

1 cup 

 

granulated sugar

 

1 cup 

 

dry sherry

 

2 cups 

 

fresh cranberries

 

½ cup 

 

chopped walnuts

Dissolve sugar in sherry over low heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil. Add 2 cups of fresh cranberries and cook until berries pop, about 8 minutes. Cool and add nuts.

Put in sterilized jars, make cute labels and store in the refrigerator.
