 Sage Wild Rice

 

This can also be used as a stuffing for chicken or turkey...
 

½ lb 

 

wild rice, uncooked

 

1 cup 

 

finely chopped onion

 

1 cup 

 

finely chopped carrots

 

1 cup 

 

finely chopped celery

 

¾ cup 

 

butter

 

2 cups 

 

fresh sliced mushrooms

 

1 Tbs 

 

salt

 

½ Tbs 

 

dried sage

 

½ Tbs 

 

dried thyme

 

½ Tbs 

 

dried savory

Cook wild rice according to package directions. Set aside and keep warm.

Meanwhile, in saucepan, cook onion, carrot and celery in butter until tender but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes until well seasoned. Add to wild rice; mix thoroughly.

Serve hot.
