 Garden Green Beans with Bacon

 

Fresh, tender green beans cooked with flavorful bacon and onion...
 

1 lb 

 

fresh green beans, trimmed

 

4 slices 

 

bacon, cut into ½" pieces, and fried until crisp

 

1 cup 

 

red onion, sliced into 1/8" rings

 

3 Tbs 

 

butter

 

½ tsp 

 

pepper

 

¼ tsp 

 

salt

In 3 quart saucepan place beans; add enough water to cover. Bring to a full boil. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beans are crisp and tender (20-25 minutes); drain.

Return beans to pan; add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onion is crisp and tender (5-7 minutes).
