Baked Apples
 

 Baked Apples

 

Great addition to a pork main dish...

Delicious Apples

 

½ cup 

 

brown sugar, firmly packed

 

¾ cup 

 

butter

 

1 tsp 

 

ground nutmeg

 

1 tsp 

 

ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Peel the top half only of each apple. Core the apple to within ½" of the bottom. Place apples in ungreased baking dish. To the center of each apple, add 1 T. brown sugar, 1 t. butter, and a small pinch of each spice. Sprinkle remaining spices over apples. Pour ¼" water into the baking dish.

Bake 30-40 minutes, basting occasionally with juices. To test for doneness, pierce with a fork- they should be tender.

Serve warm.
