VEGETABLE SIDE DISHES:
Sesame Green Beans
 

Sesame Green Beans

 

Why have plain old green beans when you can spice them up with ingredients found in your pantry?
 

1 ½ lbs 

 

fresh green beans

 

2 tsp 

 

sesame seeds

 

3 Tbs 

 

soy sauce

 

2 Tbs 

 

vegetable oil

Trim ends from beans and cut in half.

In 3 quart saucepan, boil beans and simmer 5-10 min. Drain and return beans to saucepan. Meanwhile, in small saucepan over medium heat, toast sesame seeds until golden brown, stirring and shaking saucepan frequently. Remove from heat

Add soy sauce and oil to beans. Over low heat, cook beans about 10 min. longer to blend flavors, stirring frequently. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve warm.
