California Chili

 

Hearty and great flavors...
 

1 Tbs 

 

butter

 

½ lb 

 

ground turkey

 

1 medium 

 

onion, diced

 

1 green 

 

bell pepper, diced

 

2 large 

 

tomatoes, seeded and diced

 

15 oz 

 

can pinto beans

 

15 oz 

 

can kidney beans

 

8 oz 

 

can tomato sauce

 

½ Tbs 

 

ground ginger

 

1 tsp 

 

chili powder

 

1 tsp 

 

garlic powder

 

½ cup 

 

prepared barbecue sauce

 

 

 

salt and pepper to taste

Melt butter in large saucepan over medium-heat. Add turkey and cook until browned, stirring frequently- about 5 minutes.

Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes. Stir in all remaining ingredients and simmer until thickened, at least an hour.

*Serve with great garlic bread.
