Enjoy!

Fun Shopping Finds:
- I found a beautiful dress at Anthropologie– it’s long, and it has spaghetti straps, but it can be dressed up with fancy sandals or dressed down with flip flops. I bought it in red, and I love it! Black would be a great color to have too.
- Another Anthropologie find is this more casual dress. I had it in my online shopping cart, and then I took it out. And then when I went to the Anthropologie store in person, I ended up trying it on and loving it! I sized down for this dress. I thought the dip in the back would be too sexy, but it’s really not. It’s a great dress for summer. I thought it was at a good price point too.
- Thought I’d share a link to my favorite bathing suit ever. Size up because it’s a bit snug otherwise. I do not find it sheer in the back at all as some of the reviewers have mentioned. It’s normal! I have it in black, and I’m considering getting the orchid color too. It’s so flattering, and I get a ton of compliments on it. On Amazon, you can order it in RED.
- I bought these totally cute sneakers! I spotted them at Nordstrom, but they didn’t have my size so I ordered directly from the brand’s website. I ordered my normal size for these. They’re darling, and they are really comfortable too. While I was trying on sneakers at Nordstrom, there were THREE women in the shoe department who were wearing Dolce Vita’s classic Zina sneakers. I love these too, and they are super comfortable… so I’m keeping an eye on them! I love that this style of sneaker does not tie. They have laces, but you simply slip them on.

What I’m watching and reading:
- I watched Daisy Jones and the Six on Amazon Prime, and I loved it! Interesting note: Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter Riley Keough plays one of the leads. She was terrific in this role.
- Audiobooks have been a fail for me lately. I’ll listen to about 20% of the book before I decide if it’s boring or interesting enough to continue. I’ve had two fails this week. So I opted to listen to a true crime podcast: The Deck Investigates. It kept my attention, and I enjoyed it. The only thing that was annoying is that the episodes were only 20 minutes each.
Fun Recipes I’ve spotted on the internet this week:
- Coffee Cake Donuts! Baked and ready in less than 30 minutes, these donuts are so delicious with a cup of coffee!
- Creamy deviled egg filling creates the dressing that coats every bite of this very simple Deviled Egg Pasta Salad. Pasta and eggs are tossed with the dressing before being sprinkled with onion for a bit of spicy crunch in each bite.
- Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham is a most requested EASTER recipe!!
- Easter Cake Pops are simply adorable, super tasty, and easy to whip up in time for this year’s Easter celebrations! A bouquet of cake pops would make an adorable centerpiece and an easy way for guests to grab one to go!
Here’s what’s going on in my life:
- I’ve been walking the dog for 5 miles almost every day for over a year. But now that seems like too much for the dog. So I walk her a mile or two, then drop her at the house and I continue on my walk. I’ve started running again- about half running and half walking. My body responds so well to running and hard cardio. I’ve definitely seen a change in my body because of it. No more love handles!
- On that note, the weather is really nice right now in Arizona. I’m not looking forward to the hot days ahead. That’ll mean getting up super early to get any outdoor exercise.
Catch up on food-related news of the week:
- New cookbook release > RecipeTin Eats DINNER (150 Recipes for Fast Everyday Meals) by Nagi Maehashi. This is a highly anticipated book release by the founder of the RecipeTin Eats blog. I got it in the mail last week, and I have to say that it’s the best cookbook I’ve seen in a long time. I want to try so many of the recipes! And the photos are completely gorgeous too. If you get any new cookbooks this year, make sure you get this one!
- The CDC is warning of a salmonella outbreak linked to flour. Be careful about eating that raw cookie dough!
- Have you heard that TSA considers peanut butter a liquid? I guess you can’t bring a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on your flight!
- Here’s an interesting article about common food allergens and their symptoms.
Products I’m loving:
- I wrote about this before, but now that I’ve finally had a chance to use it… I have to bring it up again. I bought the NodPod (the weighted blanket for your eyes), and I’m just crazy about it. Read through the reviews- I’m not surprised that they’re great. If you have trouble sleeping, this might be something to try. It just lays on your eyes and has gentle pressure as you drift off to sleep. When you turn on your side, it stays in place. I can’t wait to try putting it in the freezer before bed when we have our warmer summer nights!
- I haven’t tried this yet, but someone suggested to me to try using the egg wraps from Costco (in their refrigerated section) to make enchiladas for a lower carb meal. I think this is an interesting idea, and I plan to try it!
- Here’s a cute (and inexpensive) jewelry idea for Mother’s Day (or for yourself).
- I wouldn’t be too upset if my kiddo or my husband gifted me this wine purse for Mother’s Day!
- Pistachios! I’m currently addicted to having pistachios as an afternoon snack. I eat about 20 pistachios and a zero sugar root beer. That’s a good treat that isn’t at all indulgent so close to dinner. I know soda isn’t great for you, but I enjoy the zero sugar root beer so it’s my guilty pleasure! Oh, and I always get the pistachios with the shells on. If I buy shelled pistachios, then I eat too many.
- Do you have these Cutting Board Flexible Mats? I use these every single day for chopping veggies and cutting meat. I love the convenience of them being flexible. They’re so easy to add to a pot or a bowl because you just bend them and scrape the food in. They can be washed by hand, or you can put them in the dishwasher. The best part is, they’re so cheap that I order a fresh new set about once a year!
- Don’t forget to look for Lindt chocolate bunnies for Easter. They’re so cute, and they’re delicious too.
Bake some quick bread this week!
- Glazed Lemon Poppy Seed Bread is the next loaf of bread you should be baking!
- Applesauce Oatmeal Bread is a delicious and easy quick-loaf recipe.
- This recipe for Raspberry Lemon Loaf makes a lemon bread studded with raspberries that is so delicious it’s hard to believe it’s low fat!
