Summer Sangria Recipe

Are you in a place where you have access to the most amazing, fresh and affordable peaches this summer?  You can’t miss.  You shouldn’t miss.  You should definitely make this… Sangria recipe this summer:  Carolina Peach Sangria.  I found the recipe in the June issue of Southern Living and messed with it a little bit to make a fabulous summer drink.

I whipped up a double batch of this for a beach barbecue that we hosted this summer.  I think I pretty much drank most of it myself lol, but the guests who tried it gave big compliments.  It’s made with a mixture of peach vodka and rosé wine.  Raspberry vodka would be equally as good in here.  If you don’t wish to buy any flavored vodka, you can use regular vodka and then throw in a half cup of either peach or raspberry nectar.  A little added lemonade concentrate and sugar make it sweet.  And plenty of chunks of fresh peaches and raspberries swim around abundantly.  Stir in club soda to thin out the alcohol, and be sure to use a fork when you’re all done drinking to sample the fruit that has soaked up all of those wonderful flavors.

This recipe can be found here: Carolina Peach Sangria

Cheers to my big sister, who is having a birthday today.  Wish we were together S, so we could drink this sangria together 🙂

Sounds wonderful. I’ve been cheating and just adding sparkling lemonade to dry red wine. Tastes great, but I’m sure not nearly as good as yours.

This looks fantastic Lori! Just don’t make the mistake that I did in college and eat all the fruit at the bottom of the pitcher. 😉

I’ve been wondering what to do with the raspberry vodka I’ve had percolating in the cupboard for the past year. I think it should be ready now, so I can whip up a pitcher of this ambrosia!

Oh yay! Sangria is on my list of weekend indulgences. Of course, so is peach gazpacho. But then, is there really such a thing as too many peaches?? This looks lovely!
