10 New Recipes to Try for Dinner

Back in January I shared 10 new recipes to try for dinner and promised to share something like this again.  These are recipes that I’ve tried that haven’t made it onto the blog to be “featured,” but they’ve been added into my recipe database.  I’m sneaky like that.  Just when you think you’ve tried all of my chicken recipes, I may have added something new without you even realizing it.  I add recipes to various categories randomly… all year long… when they’re definitely great to share with the world, but they aren’t exciting enough visually or otherwise to be the star of a featured recipe post.  Here are 10 new recipes to try for dinner that I’ve had in the last few weeks myself.

Pork Chops Alla Pizzaiola:  This recipe is from Giada De Laurentiis.  It comes together so easily- the chops sautéed in a pan in a little bit of oil, then removed to keep warm while you simmer the sauce.  I served it over rice and it was a big hit with my family!

Tomato Florentine Soup:  This is a wonderfully rich- flavored tomato soup with a small amount of pasta added in and spinach leaves too.

Stir Fried Beef and Broccoli with Orange- Sesame Sauce: This one is a quick, 30 minute meal.  Very flavorful sauce in a simple beef stir fry.

Sauteed Asparagus with Butter and Parmesan: When my husband travels for work, I’m perfectly happy having something like this entirely to myself for dinner… which is what I did with these asparagus.  Totally delicious.

Back Bay Chili: This recipe was a big hit with my family for dinner.  I added a little less cayenne than indicated since I didn’t want to frighten off my 10 year old.  He loved it with a hint of cinnamon in there.

Sweet Cornbread:  I whipped up a simple recipe for sweet cornbread to go with the chili recipe above.  We loved it.  And it’s even better with a smear of butter and a drizzle of honey.

Seared Scallops:  This recipe is designed to serve just two!  I halved the recipe and made it just for me, and I was a very happy camper with this for dinner + some chilled white wine.  It’s a very simple dinner… just scallops served over sautéed spinach.

Veal Parmesan– I love veal, but I don’t make it all that often because it’s too darn expensive… but I happened to have some cutlets in my freezer, so Veal Parm it was!  Loved it!

Chicken Tortilla Soup– I fell madly in love with this tomato-based chicken tortilla soup.  And best of all, it’s topped with avocado!

Blackened Steak Salad: Every once in a while I can get away with serving salad for dinner.  Since this one had steak in it, my husband was okay with it.  It was pretty good for a Weight Watcher’s- style salad.
