  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped shallot
  • 2 teaspoons chopped capers
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


  • Four 6-ounce halibut fillets
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives


  • Prepare vinaigrette: Combine the vinaigrette ingredients in a small bowl; stir with a whisk.
  • Prepare fish: Heat a nonstick grill pan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray. Sprinkle fish with ½ teaspoon salt. Add fish to pan; grill 4 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork or until desired degree of doneness.
  • To serve, spoon vinaigrette over fish and sprinkle with chives.
