Hot Rum Sauce

Hot Rum Sauce

For serving over bread pudding or ice cream!

Yield: About 1 1/2 cups

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup boiling water
1/3 cup rum


1. Place butter, sugar and flour in small saucepan. Whisk together thoroughly and slowly whisk in the boiling water. Cook over low heat until the mixture thickens and is clear.

2. Remove from heat and stir in rum.


*If you enjoy a stronger rum flavor, increase the quantity to 1/2 cup rum.
