In a medium bowl, combine the chicken and barbecue sauce and allow to marinate for a few minutes, or even up to 24 hours.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Roll the fresh pizza dough onto parchment paper or a pizza stone (no cookie sheet). Lightly brush olive oil on the dough, leaving about a 1-inch edge. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
Evenly distribute the barbecue chicken on top of the cheese. Scrape any extra barbecue sauce onto the dough too. Top with onions and garnish with cilantro.
Bake the pizza on the middle or top rack for 9 to 13 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the crust is golden.
Remove the pizza from the oven. Let cool a few minutes, then cut and serve.
