If you’re eating light… and even if you’re not!!! > these are the cookie for you to get your “chocolate craving” on: Cocoa Fudge Cookies
Yeah, I’m eating light. I’m in the midst of an exercise challenge of sorts, which I’ll share with you once it’s COMPLETE (soon!) Even though I’m eating light, I still have to chow down on some majorly good sweet stuff now and then. You can’t deny yourself completely, right?
I found this recipe in an old Cooking Light cookbook that I had hiding somewhere on the very back of my cookbook shelf. Great discovery! These are the most chocolatey, fudgy, low calorie kind of cookies that you’ll ever come across if you’re eating light. Chocolate stuff of any sort tastes SO GOOD when you’ve been laying off dessert for a few days. MAKE THESE!
Truth be told, I baked these last weekend during the playoff games. Our super cool football-fan neighbor “Dave” came over to hang out with us and watch the games. I prepared some light appetizers, and I really wanted to have a dessert… but I didn’t want anything MAJOR lying around. And by “major,” I mean evil desserts with off-the-charts calories. These were perfect (and Dave loved them too!)
Like I said- you get a great chocolate fudge bite in these cookies without breaking the bank on the calorie count. Each cookie has just 76 calories. I can handle that! In fact, I think I can handle two of that to get my sugar craving satisfied.
Enjoy… with slightly less guilt 🙂

- Drop by level tablespoons 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are almost set. Cool cookies on pans until set, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
These sound awesome, but did you really mean SALTED butter? Do you think it matters?
I personally think it matters, but you can always use unsalted and add a little more salt.
Those cookies look lovely! And they’re light too…you can’t tell by the pictures!
Tried your white wedding cake cupcake recipe for my grandson’s baptism – I’ve never had a cupcake come out so evenly in the papers and be as moist as these. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK you were the hit of our party!
I’m making the cookies right now and the kitchen smells so yummy. Can’t wait to devour them. (and not feel too guilty)
These look so moist Lori! and for 76 calories? I’ll take 12. Wait…
These look like my kind of cokie…
These cookies look so rich and so fudgy! I love everything about them.
Gorgeous photos, too.
Pinning!
they look yummy!
I can not believe these are under 100 calories! They look so rich and chocolatey!
I have never put Greek yogurt in cookies but now I gotta try it!
Love your fudge cocoa cookies!! Speaking of, I am about ready to bake some cookies right now 🙂
Looks delicious. I want to make these tomorrow hopefully. I wonder if you used old fashioned regular cocoa powder (like Hershey’s) or if you used dutch-process cocoa powder. Thanks.
I just used the good ‘ol fashioned Hershey’s Cocoa Powder for this one.
After the Holidays, this looks like a great recipe to try! They look super chocolaty – not sure I’d be able to have just one. 🙂
I’m with you on not have anything “major” laying around. Especially after the splurges I consumed over the holidays. LOL These are going on my “to do” list because even just 1 cookie is satisfying for me as a dessert. I will try to freeze most of the batch and take them out as I need them. Can’t wait to try them.
76 calories! Sweet (literally and figuratively) ! They look delicious.
Fudgy cookies are the best, and the fact that they’re lower calorie is even better!
I love baking with yogurt – these cookies sound really wonderful!
Imagine my delight when I click over to Recipe Girl and find these. You see, today I’m heading back upstairs to work out for the first time since last fall! Terrible I know, but there it is. I can’t wait to try one of these..or TWO!
I crave chocolate all year – this is the perfect lightened cookie recipe.
Fudgy cookies are the best. These look great!
WHOA!!! 76 calories means that I can have a few of these 😉
Wow, these look so good! I love the greek yogurt in them. That must make them extra moist!
No diet should be deprived of chocolate! I don’t think I could survive. Love the greek yog in here. These definitely do not look like low-cal cookies (but I should eat 3, just to be sure)
I love that tall cookie stack 🙂
And they have greek yog – nice! I have baked cookies with some greek yog before and also cream, but only like 1-2 tbsp. Very cool that these have 1/3 cup and it probably keeps them so moist! They definitely don’t look low cal or healthy…yum!
These look and sound amazing! If I were going to pick one low-cal treat to have I think I would pick a chocolate cookie like this.
