Snickerdoodles


SNICKERDOODLES

1 cup shortening
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 ¾ cups flour, sifted
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
sugar and cinnamon

1. In large bowl, mix shortening, sugar and eggs.

2. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into wet mixture. Chill dough in refrigerator until firm.

3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

4. Roll into small balls. Roll balls in mixture of cinnamon and sugar, and place on ungreased baking sheet.

5. Bake 8-10 minutes until cookies are flattened and crinkly.
