Hot Cherry Sauce
This may drizzled over vanilla ice cream or pound cake.
1 pound dark sweet cherries, stemmed and pitted
3/4 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of ground cloves
pinch of ground nutmeg
1/2 cup seedless raspberry jam
1. Put cherries in medium saucepan; add sugar, water, and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Remove cherries with slotted spoon; add jam and boil until syrupy. Pour syrup over cherries.
3. Ready to serve!
*If you are preparing this recipe as GLUTEN-FREE, just be sure to use a brand of raspberry jam that is known to be GF.
