Air Fryer Fried Green Beans turn out to be a healthy and delicious, crispy snack or appetizer that can be served with a dipping sauce. This simple recipe can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. The air fried green beans will have a crispy texture on the outside and they will be more tender on the inside.
If you are a fan of green beans, you might also like to try our recipes for green beans with bacon, green beans with caramelized shallots and bacon wrapped green beans (my favorite).

Oven roasted green beans are slightly crisp, and slightly blistered from roasting. They make a great side dish! These Air fryer fried green beans can also work as a side dish, but I prefer to make them as a snack or an appetizer. Even picky eaters want to try these crispy fresh green beans! They are so much healthier than any fried appetizer. And if you like these then you’re going to want to try my spicy pickled green beans too!

Ingredients Needed:
- Green Beans: Use beans that are fresh from the garden or any kind of firm green bean that has good “snap” to it. Avoid using frozen or canned green beans.
- Flour: Use all purpose flour. Use almond flour if you’re gluten free.
- Eggs: Whisk them well. You’ll be using the egg to help the bread crumb mixture to adhere to the green beans.
- Bread Crumbs: Use panko bread crumbs! It matters. They’ll have a bigger crunch factor than traditional bread crumbs.
- Parmesan Cheese: Finely grated Parmesan cheese is what you need here (not shredded). Using a store-bought tub of grated Parmesan is just fine.
- Salt and Pepper

How to make Air Fryer Fried Green Beans:
The complete, printable recipe is in the recipe card at the end of this post.
Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees F. Rinse your green beans in a colander. No need to dry them. Set up a little assembly line of three bowls: one for the flour, one for the whisked eggs, and one for the bread crumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese and salt/pepper. Dip a green bean into flour, egg and then the bread crumb mixture. Place it in the air fryer basket or on your air fryer shelf, and continue dipping until there is a single layer of beans ready to air fry. Cook them 5 to 7 minutes, until browned and crisp. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Recipe Tips
- Be sure to allow your air fryer to heat up completely before adding the green beans. It should take less than 5 minutes.
- Air fry your green beans in a single layer. Don’t overcrowd the basket or shelf of your air fryer.
- Add any additional spices to the bread crumb mixture, if you’d like. I suggest trying chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder or red pepper flakes.
- If you want a more crispy crunch to the exterior, you can spray the dipped green beans using an oil mister (not cooking spray).
- If you want to cook these in a regular oven, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F., and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the coated green beans in a single layer and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the green beans over and cook for 5 to 7 additional minutes. If you want them super crispy, put them under the broiler for a minute before serving! They’re better when made in the air fryer, but the oven is certainly an alternative option.

What is the best air fryer?
If you don’t have an air fryer, you must pick one up! I like this one (if you’re looking for the “basket” type. It works great! I have the larger Cosori, which is great for cooking multiple items (like salmon and veggies at the same time).
